Volunteer . . .

Buffalo Humane needs your help. We especially need:

• Foster homes. Why have an adoptable animal housed in a kennel/cage when he could be in a home, learning how to live with a family? Could you open your home to a homeless dog or cat until a permanent home can be found? Our foster families are the backbone of our "virtual" shelter and animal placement network. This can also be a perfect solution for those who do not think they can permanently commit to a pet of their own at this point in their lives. All foster families are screened carefully, and once approved have a strong support network to help them with their foster animal.
   
• Ambassadors. We are looking for people to put up posters and hand out materials in their own neighborhoods or elsewhere in the city.
   
• Event helpers. Buffalo Humane is planning a number of events and we will need people to help carry out a variety of activities, from administrative tasks to creative work to handling adoptable animals at adopt-a-thons, and more.
