Macy
Macy has made a smooth transition to her new forever home in Buffalo, NY.
This intelligent, communicative, observant, energetic, appreciative loving
creature selected her forever parents at a BrightStar event. Macy has Dan,
a lawyer, and Audrey, a teacher, all to herself. All three kindred spirits
love to hike and picnic along the Niagara River walk. The family philosophy
is to channel the canine spirit. Macy spends her active days doing her job of
window watching in a huge house, getting brushed, curled up on rugs, giving
great kisses, going on long walks, and greeting children. She gets daily
rides in the back of the van, which is customized to fit her travel needs.
Future plans include more obedience classes, visiting more relatives,
and camping. Macy gives a 4-paw salute to
BrightStar German Shepherd Rescue and her foster mom Carol of Buffalo
Humane for giving her a chance at a wonderful life.
Van Gogh
A recent cold snap created dangerous conditions for humans and animals alike.
But the danger was greatest to those animals who found themselves living on the
streets. With below-zero temperatures, no shelter, and having to scrounge
for food, area homeless animals were particularly vulnerable. The brown tabby
managed to get lucky by climbing onto the porch of a family who couldn't
ignore its sorrowful cries. The family looked after the cat, and called
for assistance. Starved, suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection,
and with serious frostbite to both ears and tail, the cat slowly recovered.
Unfortunately, he lost an ear, but gained a great name: Van Gogh!
Van Gogh was adopted by roommates who have 4 other cats and 2 dogs.
Now he is warm, toasty, well fed and gets lots of attention! Best wishes to Anna,
Amy, Van Gogh, and the entire brood! And thanks to Angela and family for saving
this wonderful fellow!
Fuggles
After a very long time in foster care, Fuggles finally found his forever home.
If there were ever a dog that deserved a great home, this is the guy.
This fellow is quietly settling in and becoming the couch potato he aspires
to be. Fuggles now gets his snuggles from his new family in North Tonawanda,
and he appears to be enjoying every minute. Fuggles was a
Woof Wagon rescue
fostered by Buffalo Humane's Carol Tutzauer.
Angus (Kringle)
Having been tossed out on Christmas Day into the cold snow (no doubt as an
unwanted Christmas gift), Angus somehow managed to make his way onto the back
porch of a Buffalo Humane board member. Two dogs at the house alerted the family
to the small 6-week-old black kitten, shivering in the corner behind a basket
of wood. Not knowing at the time whether the kitten was male or female, it
was named Kringle/Noelle (pending further investigation). Kringle is now
called Angus and is living with a wonderful woman and her older but sweet
adult cat.
Thank you Central Park Animal Hospital for taking care of Kringle while he waited for his new family!
