BuffaloCAN

Helping area animals and the people who care for them

Member Agency:
Animal Alliance of Western New York

Welcome! BuffaloCAN comprises two non-profit organizations: Buffalo Companion Animal Network, dedicated to community outreach, and Buffalo Humane, a no-kill animal rescue group. Both target their efforts toward people and animals in Buffalo and surrounding areas.

This portal will direct you to the appropriate organization, based upon your interest and the particular organization's activities.

Adoptions (Buffalo Humane) — Take a look at the animals we have available for adoption. We will work with you to find a pet that is a good fit into your household.

Pet Assistance (Buffalo Humane) — We work to keep animals in their homes by helping their owners with behavioral problems or by helping their owners rehome them. Here you will also find our help library with documents on various topics. We want to keep animals healthy, happy, and out of area shelters!

Animeals (Buffalo Companion Animal Network) — Animeals is a joint program with Meals on Wheels that provides pet meals along with human meals to participating persons in the community.

Microchip Clinics (Buffalo Companion Animal Network) — Far too many pets become lost and then lack sufficient identification to ensure that they can be returned to their owners. Microchipping can greatly improve the likelihood that your beloved pet can be returned to you. Check here for upcoming low-cost microchip clinics.
