Please license your dog and microchip all of your pets!
Buffalo Humane strongly encourages you to license your dog. Aside from the fact that dog licensing is the law in New York state, so many of the animals that end up at the city shelter are simply lost and would like to get back home. And in the unlikely event that your animal is hurt, veterinarians and shelters are much more likely to treat a sick or injured animal.
A license and especially microchipping provide essential insurance that your pet has the best possible chance of being returned to you in the event that s/he becomes lost.
